A Victorian silver and coromandel stationery box together with a folder also of silver and coromandel. The 3 finely engraved silver cartouches are hallmarked for 1876 and includes a duty mark, sterling mark, makers mark, date letter A and the leopard mark for London. The stationery box has internal divisions and a small brass plate, between the hinges, with the name Trussell Brighton; (H Trussell 16 & 17 East Street Brighton), maker/retailer. The beautifully figured coromandel ebony wood is in wonderful condition as are the silver cartouches. The coromandel folder front is slightly domed and the rest is covered in black leather (worn). The base has an inset piece of pink velvet inserted into it and the lid is lined with blue silk.
